Chapter 93 – Thankful
Thanksgiving had arrived. The air was crisp. The leaves on the trees turned a brilliant red and yellow.
Enzo and Merlot were snuggled next to each other in the late afternoon sun. “Hi guys!” said Dad as he laid down in front of them. “How are you doing?” Both Enzo and Merlot put their heads down so Dad could pet them.
As he gently stroked their heads, he said softly, “Enzo, you’re such a handsome boy. You have such a big heart and kind soul. You’re my unicorn bunny. Merlot, you’re such a pretty girl. You take such good care of Enzo. I’m so lucky to have you guys.”
Enzo thought, “We tankful for you, too! I so glad you found me at the shelter and saved me from losing my leg! Merlot and I bote tankful dat you let her stay. We wuvs each udder. But you know what we most tankful for? We tankful for all the hoomans who give buns a wuving home!”
Dad agreed. As the light faded to dark, he nuzzled his buns, thankful for all his fellow bun parents.
