Gizmo’s New Year Nibbles: Ringing in 2026 with Healthy Guinea Pig Treats | Small Pet Select Blogs

Are you excited for the new year?

I know I’m popcorning with excitement!

So, as the countdown to 2026 begins, I’m doing a little self reflection on how I can make it the bestest year ever.

Here’s what I’ve come up with.

First I’ve decided my biggest resolution is to eat well so I can feel my best. That means sticking with foods that keep my belly happy, my teeth busy, and my zoomies strong. My healthy habits  start with plenty of hay, fresh veggies, and just the right amount of healthy guinea pig treats to keep life fun.

I know exactly which healthy snack belongs in my  bowl: pea flakes for guinea pigs!

Pea flakes are one of the best guinea pig snacks around. They’re light, crunchy, and exciting enough to make me popcorn across my playpen. They’re the kind of snack that lets me celebrate while staying active and feeling good, which is exactly what a New Year’s resolution should be about.

(Yes, guinea pigs make resolutions too.)

But eating more pea flakes isn’t my only goal.

First on my list: more foraging. I want to sniff, search, and squeak my way through every pile of hay and enrichment setup Big Momma dreams up.

Second, extra zoomies. I plan to run laps and surprise everyone with my speed, especially right after snack time.

And finally, I’m looking forward to more Piggy Boxes. (Ok, that’s not really a resolutions, but nothing makes a piggy’s year brighter than a box full of tasty surprises and enrichment goodies!)

A healthy piggy is a happy piggy — and a happy piggy is always ready for whatever the new year brings.

So, when the clock strikes midnight and 2026 officially begins, I’ll be ready to snuggle into my fleece, crunch the last of my treats, and feel thankful for good food, gentle hands, and hoomans who care about choosing thoughtful, nourishing treats for small pets.

So, here’s to fresh starts, full hay racks, and snacks that make every day feel like a celebration.

    Cheers to a happy 2026!
